Layering is the key for Winter outfits!

New dresses by Rene Derhy this winter feature gorgeous Art Nouveau prints and sequin embellishments that look great when combining with a selection of layers.

Tights and stockings are always the must haves for the Winter wardrobe and we suggest brands such as Ambra who carry a great selection of styles of opaques in a variety of weights, and Sports Girl online where you can choose from a selection of printed stockings that are also readily available to buy online. Other layering pieces that go well with our Rene Derhy dresses are Metalicus top's that are available in a range of styles, lengths, colors and last for a long time (we highly recommend!)

There are a few items that every woman should always carry in their wardrobe. One of these items that we truly believe are a must have is the traditional ballet flat.

The ballet flat shoe is perfect for just about any season and look great with a pair of jeans, tights, or skirt. Whatever way you choose to wear your special pair of flats shoes we guarantee that you will wear them all the time.

Lets face it ladies, every shoe brand is making them, so there are many on the market to choose from. But have you truly found that ballet flat shoe that you would go back to buy again?

So... What should all expect from a good ballet flat shoe?

1. Comfort - if your ballet flats are not comfortable then you might as well just wear a pair of heels! (and go running in them)

2. Durability - when you find that perfect pair, all you want to do is wear them (and wear them, and wear them some more) so they definitely need to sustain your daily wear and tear.

3. Contour to the shape of your foot - we guarantee that if you buy a stiff pair... you will eventually wear them in, but only after a few rounds of sore blisters. So you need a pair made from a soft leather, flexible sole and soft stitching.

4. Aesthetically pleasing - lots of people say that you can tell a person by the shoes they are wearing so you best be wearing a good looking pair!

5. Affordable - Don't expect that a cheap pair of ballet flat shoes will take you far, you might get 3 - 4 months of good wear out of them, but what you will find is that imitation leathers and poor craftsmanship will let you down and the shoes will start to look all worn and raggedy. If you save up a little extra and buy a decent pair between $100 - $200 you will find that they will last a long time in your wardrobe.

The Ultimate Winter Scarf!

Not only do we wear them to keep us warm during the colder seasons but the right scarf is also a hot fashion accessory for any grizzly Winter Season. So which European designer is creating the best Scarfs? Our favorite is Danish designer Mille Rostock and we are lucky to share some of her press with you.

So how do you wear one of these oversized gorgeous silk scarfs?

Because these scarves are so large, you can wear them several ways, here are a couple of techniques!

Scarf Look 1:

Simply tie the scarf around the neck and fold through enabling it to sit long.

Scarf Look 2: Our Fav!

Fold the scarf in half to form a triangle. Place infront of chest, and with the longer ends wrap around in opposite directions around the neck. Finish the look by tieing the ends so they sit on the chest.

The Bloch London Ballet Flat Shoe @ European Wardrobe

As you may or may not be aware, a couple of years back Bloch (the makers of the best ballet dance shoes) decided to release a range of fashionable ballet flat shoes for the every day women.

Since then the release of the Bloch London shoe range have become incredibly popular, not just because they look great on your feet, but also because of their quality and comfort. The shoes are made using genuine Italian leather and mould perfectly to ones foot. Some styles also have adjustable strings and bows that can loosen or tighten the shoe (as seen on the the Bloch Arabian, and luxury styles). The shoes have become so popular that we are seeing stars Katie Holmes and Naomi Watts out and about courting the shoes and they have also been backed by Anna Wintour, the fashion editor of Vogue who has declared Bloch shoes to be the best flats out on the market.

We would like to welcome you to the European Wardrobe online store fashion blog spot!

I (Stephanie) and my co-owner/older sister Carmel are the creators and founders of the online fashion boutique European Wardrobe, and for a long time we have loved everything about fashion. Our roots stem from Italy, and growing up we were lucky to have the opportunity to visit Italy whenever we could. You can say that this may be the reason why we have such a tie with European fashion and why we love it so much.

We started the online boutique in 2008 because we found that there are so many brands in Europe that have not been discovered by any Australian boutique buyers, making it difficult for us to access. So we thought to start up our own boutique and import brands so we and the women of Australia have easy access to these awesome labels.

This blog post will keep those who share the same passion for European fashion design up to date with all the fashion we love and choose to bring to our online boutique.
